Wednesday time
Good morning
It is busy here and the sun is shining or at least it was the last time I went out of the office. Reservations are stariting to come in for next year and xmas is much busier now. Nearly full.
The reservations for then seem to have come in very slowly almost as if people have been waiting to see if they still have a job in November before they booked. I am pleased as I can't imagine it quiet here for xmas.
Busineses are struggling on the South of the Island and nearly 30% have closed in the last 12 months. It is tough everywhere but in a small comunity you really notice it. The begining of each month brings a new round of shops gone and more empty shop sites. We all hope next year will begin to show a pick up and that there will be more businesses starting than shutting. Local government are talking about helping small businesses but it is not yet clear what that help will be.
We have a big number birthday of a client tomorrow but I need to ask if I can publish it before I do.
Again I was sent some great photos today which I hope to be able to share with you. Some are sunsets and are really good. Some were taken from one of the odd numbered balconies and others around the complex.
Have a great day

Owners meal
Who do you know?
I love this time of year as we are busy. I have had these photos since Monday night when I took them at the owners meal. Either I have had with me the camera or the cable to upload them but this is the first time I have had both. It was a busy meal and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I have to say I went a bit early as I had swimming class but the first 2 courses were great.

Los Gigantes sadness
Many of you will have heard about the landslide in Los Gigantes this last weeken. On Sunday afternoon there was a rock slide covering 100 square metres on the Los Gigantes beach next to the pleasure harbour and two women died. On was a British woman aparently here in Tenerife on holiday and the other a Spanish national from Arona. Although passers by tried to get them out in time they were unsucessful and the energency services where there unitl after sundown looking to see if there was anyone else under the rubble.
It was a terrible accident and our condolences go to the families of the 2 women.

Happy times
I love November and probably more this year then others as we have been as quiet up until now. The resort is busy and their are lots of owners here having a great time. There are a lot of owners and we have over 20 for the owners meal on Monday. The first time this year I think. The great thing with November is they all know each other and this makes for a wonderful fun atmosphere onsite. Questions this morning included where can we as a group get some t-shirts printed. There will be french bowls every morning and aftronoon and loads of cards tables around the pool.
I have to go now and do some more work but I wish you all a great weekend.

Table tennis
I can hear the shouts from the table tennis competition just now. Javi has loads of little ones and their parents and they are all competing but clapping the others as they win or lose.
This morning csome clients came in to confirm their flights and told me how much they had enjoyed their stay. It was their first visit to Tenerife and they were so glad they hadn't chosen a resort in Las Americas or Cristianos. Sometimes I forget how busy it is down there and as mostly we see clients in the office who really wanted to be in one of the big centres.
There really are a lot of bars and resturants in the viallage. Certainly enough for a 2 week stay. A new French bread/cake shop has opened by the chemist. I haven't been (dieting again) but the owners who have this week say the bread and croissants are good and they have a take away french food menu so I will need to try that.
I was going to take a photo of the ping pong but don't have the cable for the camera.
Take cre and have a great day.

Bicycle routes.
I was reading on the Tenerife Forum today that Adeje and Arona town councils have made an agreement to set up bicycle routes in the Los Chrisitanos and Playa de las Americas areas. This is a great idea. Those of you who know me well know I had a fairly bad accident 2 years ago on a bicycle with loss of movement in both arms which took me over 2 months to recover from. I have since been too scared to get back on the roads. (I have tried but bicycles and palpitations just don't go well together.) I would be really happy if this actually comes about. It is not just for residents with bicycles but there will also be rental points in hotels and shops where holiday makers can rent bicycles. Just think instead of walking from Los Christianos to La Caleta you will now be able to cycle.
The water walkers were here today and the children had a great time. I love to watch them play with this as they really enjoy themselves.

Have a great evening.
